LCA is a program of creation with the school environment for the professional artists. The objective of “Libre comme l’Art” also is to put in touch professional creators with young people of the Montreal region to favor their success at school. By participating in the creative process of the artists, the young people are brought to open to new experiments, to dread the works and to increase their creativity. On their side, the artists feed their creative work through the meetings with the pupils

 

The workshops of interactive and multidisciplinary musical creation with the whole creation suggest to the young people participating in an adventure of sound creation in the contact of 5 creative professional musicians, themselves dedicated to the research, the composition and the improvisation, in varied and innovative contexts.

 

 

This initiative joins in the trail of a project realized in 2009 with young people of 3rd in 5th secondary sectors of the School Pierre-Laporte*. Thanks to the exceptional collaboration of several of their professors with the musicians associated to the project, about twenty young people participated in the presentation of a multidisciplinary performance in front of some 200 young people gathered in their multi-purpose hall. The enthusiasm of this answer encourages then CMFR to give more scale to the formula via the program Libres comme L' art 2011-2012 .

 

In autumn, 2012 workshops took place in the music department of the grammar school JEAN-XXIII in the presence of the pupils in music of the secondary level 5 and of their professor Serge Nolet. It is good to specify that the musicians of Module of Creation wore in residence in this school during autumn, 2011.

 

Within the framework of the Programme Libre comme l’Art  of the Conseil des Arts de Montréal(CAM) , Conférence régionale des élus (CRÉ) de Montréal and   Ministère de l’Éducation.
